Okay, why?? Because I’m involved in a fun event coming up on March 13 that’s for an excellent cause! That’s the kick off weekend for Relay for Life (RFL) and there’s going to be a bash like no other at the Red River Ballroom with DJ Annie Lane. The Canadian Cancer Society’s website says Relay for Life “gives you and your community the opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, remember and honour loved ones lost to cancer and fight back against all cancers. ” So we’re going to do it, baby! The wonderful folks at the Red River Saloon have taken me under their wing, and we’ve hatched up a contest to go with the party. Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself. There’s so much to tell you. First, a picture while I catch my breath.
Alright, better now. I’ve created a page here on my blog (link is right here and on the left side of my blog page). I’ll be updating the page as things unfold. Plus it gives you all the details of a contest we are holding. It’s a Found Fashion contest, and the idea is to put together an outfit (clothes and shoes, not skin, hair, makeup) for less than 10L. From now until March 13 I’ll be giving you hints and tips on where you can go to find some outstanding fashion that’s very easy on the pocketbook (i.e. inexpensive!). The contest winner (to be voted on at the party…yes, you’ll wear your great outfits there) will be blogged by me. We’ll do a photo shoot, and I’ll feature not only your winning outfit, but any other outfit you’d like to feature that shows your own personal fashion sense. I’m so excited!
Okay, you can’t really tell how excited from this pic. But anyway, everyone who comes to the party will be able to pick up some wonderful items from some very generous and talented designers. So far, there will be fabulous gifts from Style by Kira, Riddle, and Le Poppycock. If you’re a designer out there and you would like to participate, please drop me a line either here or in world. I’d love to hear from you.
